What is the SouthEast Bank referral program?

The SouthEast Bank referral program is a rewards program for SouthEast Bank personal and business customers who successfully refer friends to open a new checking account with SouthEast Bank.  When a new business or personal customer registers for the program through your referral link and opens an account within 90 days of registering, enrolls in and receives eStatements and posts and settles 5 debit card transactions, you and your friend will each be invited by email to choose a $50 gift card for personal customer referrals and a $100 gift card for business customer referrals.  If your friend opens both a SouthEast Bank personal checking account and business checking account, combine your gift cards for one $150 gift card! Gift Cards will be mailed within 15 days of card selection. 

How can I refer a friend?

Register online using the link provided and then invite your friends to register via email and social media. If your friend registers, opens a business or personal account within 90 days of registering, posts and settles 5 debit card transactions, and enrolls in and receives eStatements within 90 days of account opening, you will each be eligible for a gift card ($50 gift card for personal customer referrals and $100 gift card for business customer referrals — or combine both for a $150 gift card). 

What must my friend do when he/she is referred?

Your friend must complete the following steps for each of you to be eligible for one $50 or $100 Gift Card:

•  Click on your referral link and register online

•  Open a new SouthEast Bank personal checking account, a SouthEast Bank business checking account, or one of each within 90 days of registration

•  Within 90 days of account opening, he/she must post and settle 5 debit card transactions and enroll in and receive eStatements in each new qualifying account. 

After registering and opening a new account, your friend then has the option to share the program with his/her friends.

What happens when a friend registers and then shares the program with his/her friends?

If your friend registers for the SouthEast Bank referral program and opens an account, he/she may share this offer with friends via email and social media. Your friend will earn a gift card for each of their qualifying friends who registers online, opens an account, enrolls in and receives eStatements, and posts and settles 5 debit card transactions within 90 days of account opening.  

What qualifications must my friend have to be referred?

Your friend will be eligible for referral if they are not a current SouthEast Bank customer and have not held a SouthEast Bank deposit account within the past six months. For the purpose of the protection of customer privacy, SouthEast Bank will NOT notify you that a specific friend has registered and opened account. However, you will receive notice by email that you are eligible to choose a gift card. Gift Cards will be mailed within 15 days of card selection. 

If my friend does not register for the SouthEast Bank referral program after clicking on my referral link but then opens an SouthEast Bank account, can I still get the $50 Gift Card?

The Gift Card can be earned only through the online referral program if your friend  registers. However, SouthEast Bank does offer a printed referral card; see your local branch for details.

When can I get my Gift Card?

Your referred friend(s) must successfully register for the SouthEast Bank referral program and open an account within 90 days of registration. They must then post and settle 5 debit card transactions and enroll in and maintain eStatements within 90 days of opening that account.  Upon completion of the requirements, both you and your friend will each receive notice by email that you are eligible to choose a Gift Card ($50 for new personal customer referrals and $100 for new business customer referrals — or combine both for a $150 gift card). How long will the SouthEast referral program last?

How many friends may I refer to get the Gift Card?

There is no limit on the number of friends you can refer. Friends are eligible for referral if they are not a current SouthEast Bank customer and have not held a SouthEast Bank deposit account within the past six months. In order to get the Gift Card, all friend referrals need to register online, open an account within 90 days of registration, and meet program requirements of enrolling in and maintaining eStatements, and post and settle at least 5 debit card transactions within 90 days of opening that account. Referring customers may also qualify by using a printed referral card; see a retail banker at your local branch.

Refer a Friend Program: For each qualifying referral, gift cards are limited to one for personal checking and one for business checking. Offer available to current SouthEast Bank customers that refer new business checking or personal checking customers to SouthEast Bank. If qualifications are met, the new and referring customer will each receive (1) $50 gift card for each personal customer referral and (1) $100 gift card for each business customer referral. A new customer is defined as an individual or business that has not held any SouthEast Bank deposit accounts within the past six months. Upon completion of the requirements, both the new and referring customer will each receive notice by email that you’ve qualified for either a $50 or $100 gift card based upon the type of account referred. If one SouthEast Bank personal checking account and one SouthEast Bank business checking account is referred, you may combine your gift cards for one $150 gift card. The gift cards are sponsored by a variety of vendors. The qualified customer has the ability to select from various available vendors. Gift Cards will be mailed within 15 days of gift card selection. Qualifications: The new customer is required to register online at www.tellyourfriendsrewards.com/southeastbank (or present a referral card at account opening), open a SouthEast Bank checking account within 90 days of registration, enroll in and receive eStatements, and post and settle at least 5 debit card transactions within 90 days of account opening. Qualifications are checked once per month, and qualified customers will be notified within 30 days of meeting the program requirements. The minimum balance required to open the account and obtain the bonus is $50. Annual Percentage Yield (APY) will vary and be based on deposit account chosen.

Example: Bonus Rate Checking, as of 1/31/25, is 3.75% APY on balances of $20,000 or less; for amounts over $20,000, you will earn 0.20% APY with an APY of 3.75% APY to 0.48% APY, depending on the balance in the account. If bonus qualifications are not met during the statement cycle, the entire balance will earn 0.05% APY.
